Let’s Talk About You…
You want to be able to play with your kids/grandkids with joy & ease.
You’re stressed out from work, the kids, and life in general.
You’re worried you won’t be able to do the yoga poses you see on the world wide web.
You’re overwhelmed by the thought of walking into a yoga studio.
You’re ready to feel better in your body.
You’re ready to quiet your mind.
You’re ready for an hour where NO ONE NEEDS YOU.
At Brooklyn Yoga, the truth is…
You don’t need to be flexible in order to do yoga.
You don’t need to know a thing about yoga poses.
You don’t need to buy fancy yoga pants. Or even a mat.
You don’t have to have your shit together. You can be a hot mess and fit right in!
You will not leave as a stranger.
At Brooklyn Yoga, you can show up exactly as you are.
You will be encouraged to add something into your practice that your body might need. Or take something out of the practice if it doesn’t suit your body. Our teachers will guide you, but the true teacher…the real wisdom lies within your body.
At Brooklyn Yoga, it’s less about using your body to “do yoga,” and more about using the practice of yoga to find your way into YOUR body. And that looks different for every body. But we’re doing it together. One breath at a time.
Okay, buy why Brooklyn Yoga?
Yoga can feel really intimidating. Too woo-hoo-y. Too far out there. Too Instagram-y.
That’s not what you’ll find here.
At Brooklyn Yoga, all of our classes are designed for people with real-life, normal, perfectly imperfect bodies. Bodies that are aging. Bodies that are healing. Bodies that can’t do what they used to be able to do. People who are doing the best with the bodies they have.
You’ll be guided to move in ways that work best for your body.
And that’s different from the body on the mat next to you.
You’ll be offered options, accommodations, and props to make each pose accessible to YOUR body.
You’ll be invited to rest when your body tells you to.
You won’t feel pressured to “get it right” or “stick the landing.”
No one’s getting a prize for being really good at doing yoga here.
Yoga isn’t a performance. It’s a practice. It’s about learning how to listen to your body. It’s about quieting your mind. It’s about being in community with other people who are doing their best at walking through this one wild and precious life.
Let’s Talk About THE SHIFT
It won’t take long. You’ll start to feel the shift. Soon….
You’ll start to show up without being nervous.
You’ll recognize familiar, friendly faces.
You’ll get jazzed up from the buzzing energy of the room.
You’ll feel confident in your body as you flow through the practice.
You’ll start to get the teacher’s quirky sense of humor.
You’ll feel rested, rejuvenated, and content after class.
You’ll start to hear yoga stuff in your head outside of class …like “relax your jaw!”
You find yourself in a community full of people who just want to live a little more at peace.
This is where it starts. You’re ready.

I’m Hollie, the founder of Brooklyn Yoga. I created this space for normal ass, regular people who need a little yoga in their lives. We live in a fast-paced world that is stressful and loud. This is a place where folks come together to move their bodies, quiet their minds, and nurture their hearts.
I meet people all the time who are unsure, intimidated, overwhelmed, or simply too anxious to even try yoga. And that’s so understandable. I have been to yoga studios that are cold, unwelcoming, high-pressure, even cliquey. In fact, the studio I considered “home” for a few years was exactly like that. And it sucked. That’s not what Brooklyn Yoga is.
Because I’ve seen how powerful it can be when people are simply given the assurance, support, and space to start, without pressure, without judgement, and without expectation…Brooklyn Yoga was born. We are not cold. We are not cliquey. We are a community of like-minded, down to earth, friendly, normal people who come together to move our bodies, quiet our minds, and fill up our hearts.
As a mental health professional, and a retired high school counselor, I understand how deeply stress impacts our bodies. At Brooklyn Yoga, it’s not about shoving your body into a shape and calling it “yoga.” It is about using the ancient practice of yoga to nurture, strengthen, and heal your body.
It’s time. You are ready. And I can’t wait to support you on this journey. You’re gonna love it here. You belong here.
Here’s What Our Community Has to Say About Brooklyn Yoga
Brooklyn Yoga is for You IF…
-
feel better in your body, even if you’re not sure where to start.
-
feel less stressed, overwhelmed, and anxious in your body AND your mind.
-
be part of a welcoming community of people who are doing their best to live an authentic, balanced, perfectly imperfect life.
-
show up exactly as you are..with all of your beautiful messiness.
-
advanced, performance-based classes with a “no-pain, no-gain” vibe (no one will yell at you here).
-
spending a shit ton of money on fancy yoga outfits to impress people.
-
do hot yoga. We don’t have that here.
And all that stuff is cool. We’re not trying to be everything to everyone. We’re just here for the people who want to move their bodies, feel better (mentally AND physically), and start where they are.
